UCG provides pre-construction services, construction management and general contracting, third party construction management, architectural services coordination, and comprehensive development services to its customers, while continually maintaining and evolving a partnering relationship among all project stakeholders through teambuilding exercises and periodic assessment of each client's requirements for their respective projects.         

  • Construction Management and General Contracting
    UCG initiates each of its Construction Management and General Contracting projects with extensive partnering exercises to open communication channels among all project stakeholders: client, architect, civil, structural and mechanical engineers, interior designers, realtors (if applicable), and facility end-users. Partnering starts with team building activities in which all parties are brought together to discuss and understand each other’s protocols and requirements in order to efficiently work through and complete projects. Whether the project is a traditional design-bid-build delivery, or a streamlined design-build delivery (see below), UCG’s value-added participation brings all parties together for an ultimately successful endeavor. UCG maintains consistent staff assignments for each project to preserve project-specific “chain of knowledge” and relationships. Senior level management is intimately involved with every project, from inception to closeout. UCG believes strongly in fair treatment of subcontractors, and in return, the close relationships are reflected in the quality of construction and competitive bids.
  • Design-Build (Architectural & Design Services Coordination)
    UCG has partnered with reputable [1016] Architecture, Inc., a U.S. Green Building Council Member Firm, to provide a “one stop” option for clients who choose to streamline the design and construction process.  This option, also known as Design-Build delivery, has many inherent benefits to the client, including:

  • Third Party Construction Management
    UCG performs consulting, or third party construction management, services for clients as the liaison and/or overseer among all project stakeholders for all, or specific, phases of a project. The challenging issues surrounding construction and development projects lend themselves to a construction manager's intervention to facilitate partnering, coordination and communication. As a third party, UCG will serve as an experienced consultant to protect the best interests of the client; examining budgetary issues, contractual forms and procedures, design parameters and alternatives, schedule progress, and quality assurance.
  • Pre-Construction & Feasibility Studies
    Involving UCG in the feasibility, conceptual, and design development phases of a project allows the client to evaluate the feasibility of a project based on potential design and construction costs, and allows the client, architect, and engineer(s) to incorporate cost-savings modifications in order to satisfy budget and design objectives.  UCG completes a thorough process described as value engineering: various design alternatives are explored to improve upon a project’s budget, without sacrificing original design objectives of the facility.  UCG’s feasibility and pre-construction services allow the client to accurately evaluate various design alternatives, shorten construction schedule durations and save valuable project budgetary resources.
